State of Belief Radio Interview
You've seen the face… Wanna hear the voice?
(Please Note: the broadcast has been archived - it's titled "Had enough of the 24/7 Paris Hilton News Yet?" My interview is the last segment and begins at the 31:00 minute mark.)
As regular readers know, I do like to use humor, but seriously: I was surprised and pleased to receive an invitation from Air America's State of Belief producer Brendan McDonald to be interviewed by host The Rev. Dr. Welton Gaddy about this blog and the upcoming book, Original Faith: Becoming Our Truer Nature.
My interview with State of Belief aired Sat. June 30 at 10 AM EST (7 AM Pacific) and on Sunday 7 PM EST (4 PM Pacific). You can listen to the program online or download the podcast on ITunes. For details, click here.
This was a positive experience for me. Mr. McDonald and Rev. Gaddy set a warm, welcoming tone, and I thought the questions were great.

I'll be back later and leave a comment to your previous post.
I keep checking to see if they've updated their site yet. I still haven't heard the interview myself...!
can u put the whole thing on your blog :)
And I always thought it was 15 seconds of fame, not three...
Seriously, I called them and left a message...
I did like the rest of their show!
VISHESH: Glad you brought that up. Self-promotion does NOT appear anywhere on my list of favorite activities. I love writing and speaking about things that matter to me - that's it.
The thing is, unless people know a book exists they can't read it. So there's no getting around it.
This interview itself was fun to do. However, as per my comment to Kathy above, there's been a glitch...
I just chanced upon your blog and was impressed.I always love to read inspiring books and I'm sure your book falls into this category. Will surely go for the book.
Sorry to be anonymous. I can't remember my Google username!

Keshi.
Sounds great. I am looking forward to hearing your interview.
When the book's available, which should be this fall, the site will update to show this and how to order so you'll probably catch that. There's also a very short contact form (it basically asks for your email address)that people can click on from my home page if they want to be contacted when the book's available.
Thanks for your interest! I really look forward to the book coming out. On the blog to date, I'm only getting to talk around the things I'd really like to say. When the book comes out, hopefully enough people will read it that between that and maybe posting substantial excerpts, I can direct the blog content more toward the book content.
I will look forward to listening when I get home. Good job! =)
Fame and fortune can be difficult. I guess I can commiserate more with Paris Hilton now.
'Course, living in Indiana, it may not have aired here. This is like a throwback state, fer sure.
Thrown back to medieval times, that is.
Before that everyone was singing:
"Why am I standing here
Missing her and wishing
She were here - "
She, The Monkees, sung by Mickey Dolenz... 1967?
(I've got a million of 'em, just ask any family member... I still say I have a good voice, but apparently it only works if you benefit from the acoustics of my cranium. It is this alone which kept me from a career in music.)
"Sing... sing a song...
Make it simple to last your
Whole life loooooong -
Don't worry if it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear...
Just sing...
Sing a song."
- Karen Carpenter, some really annoying song apparently called "Sing a Song."
The worst part of the whole thing is probably that I even remember lyrics and jingles that I don't like and am willing to sing them.
But I digress...
BONEMAN: But you're talking to someone who grew up in "Cowhampshire." It's true however, that most of the cows have since been replaced by people from Mass who you can identify from fall until spring because they don't seem to buy the plaid jacket.
