Spiritual of Truth –?
There was the Truth of the Roman Emperor. There is the Truth of Christianity, including the Truth of every denomination. There is the Truth of Islam, with Sunni Truth and Shiite Truth. There was the Truth of Communism and now there is the Truth of Capitalism. Here is a truth: flesh often bleeds for the sake of words we spell with capital letters.

Amen. Yet another reason why I distrust folks who try to bring me Truth with a capital T.
I also loved the story about Caroline. What a large act of kindness for a small child.
Emphasis is an exercise of power. Capitalization colors truth. Institutions set up for conveyance of truth gets hijacked by the priests. This happens everywhere. Religions are only the special cases. The fresh poetry of the phenomenon of life gets hijacked by the prosaic presentations of the Priest. Christ drove away the priests for a brief spell. But then he himself was hijacked posthumously by several dispensations of priests!!
May be the worst form of capitalists is the ‘Communists’. They install divisiveness on a pedestal and call it the eternal truth. Then they capitalize that to bleed the earth of its resources.
MISTIPURPLE: Huh? Not sure I follow.
Are you using one of those dangerous writing implements from India or something? (Inside joke - Hi there, Gautami, if you're out there...!)
DUSTBUNNY, thanks. Kids can be amazing.
AVGW: Yes, I've seen that remarked upon - that there is a risk or even a tendency, when religions become large, bureaucratic institutions, for people who occupy important positions to stray a long way from the insight that was present at its foundation.
VISHESH: What makes your statement something other than a Truth? Not that you've ever struck me as a Truth-touter (now there's a fine phrase...), just my job to ask the tough questions I guess...
Nonetheless, that doesn't change the fact that "T"ruth exists. When are we going to develop the tools to perceive it?
When that happens, people act as if they're completely sure they've not only grasped ultimate truth, but have it reduced to a verbal formula. And no evidence or questioning of any kind will lead them to admit or speak as if they harbor the least doubt - as if the possibility of not being absolutely certain is highly threatening to them.
I think that science is pretty clear about restricting itself to trying to grasp truths about the observable universe. Even its large scale theories are predicated on empirical findings. It's true though, that people sometimes almost seem to worship science - in my experience, science buffs more often than scientists themselves.
May we all see ourselves in each other's eyes, and be happy with what we see.
