This Is Not My Real Post
I don’t normally post two days in a row – my real post is the one under this one. It isn’t my fault that contemporary politics, like all great art forms, has power to inspire.
The Times They Are A Changin'-O
“Change” is all the rage today,
At least this week it’s what they say;
O Change, O Hope, O Vagueness Great,
I think I’ve got a belly ache.
But then HC is so specific
You’d almost think there’s nothing to it
But to suggest that she’s the best
By virtue of experience
That knows pie charts and power point
Like Colon Powell’s give-a-show
That demoed danger at the time
And made her say: “You're right; let’s go…”
Money Talks: Our present system of financing political campaigns, which protects monetary donations as free “speech” under the First Amendment, assures us a steady supply of political animals in leadership positions as collared and leashed by wealthy individuals and corporations for as far as the eye can see. (Not to say, of course, that we can’t do better than the present administration.)
Until and unless this changes, it's hard to see how real change happens.

So power is evil.
But Power is a necessary evil because we feel the need for it in our guts.
Even the best of intentions can not make any movements in the absence of power.
In any civilized system money is a notional representation of power
So while money corrupts it is also a necessary evil.
A system is mad when it is run on evil principles.
Politicians and Wealthy individuals and corporations while they don't cure the madness introduce some method into the madness.
Anybody who try to salvage us from confusions is good.
So politicians and wealthy individuals and corporations are good.
Till somebody comes up with wholesome cure they will continue to remain as good.
So much evil all around!
So much goodness all around!
My head is shaking,
And my belly is aching
You might say that combining goodness with power is a perennial human problem as well.

I haven't been following Hillary's rhetoric, but she will say anything now to get votes--Obama is a clear threat. I agree that the elections is about "put up or shut up". We do not get the best or the brightest, just the wealthiest or those with good patrons who have deep pockets.

I have the feeling so far it's only been realized in football.
GAUTAMI: I so vividly recall listening to CP's presentation on the radio just before the invasion and as it was going on, repeatedly saying, out loud, by myself in my apartment: He's lying.
It was so not compelling - reminded me of a fifth grader giving a report for class where he hadn't really done his homework and was trying to get away with somethng he'd pulled together quickly the night before.
And that's how HC voted - for the war.
Another part of the leadership problem here is the careerism. The original concept was citizens temporarily holding office then going back to civilian life. As it is, HC's main concern, and that of any number of other representatives, was probably less whether CP's report was compelling and more whether voting against the war would prove unpopular and make their reelection less likely.
This is the season of politics and how the candidates are so engrossed in their EGO they will say anything to look good.
The best part is that we have an opportunity to focus on other things that are more important. Helen
That's already started in the US. For example, as a completely housebound person, my access to medical care is care of the lowest quality. Visiting physician and other health care agencies that visit people's homes and accept Medicare, at least in this county, clearly don't hire the best and brightest.
Long story short, on top of my degenerative condition, I'm currently dealing with infections in both feet that were caused by a visiting podiatrist who definitely should have known better. This is only the latest incident. I was also, for example, overdosed on the Duragesic patch two years ago by another doctor - had started hallucinating and could have died if I hadn't still had the presence of mind to call a pharmacist who said WHAT dosage are you on?? - and told me to take the thing off my arm no matter what the doctor had said.
I'm just one small example, and most of the gross social injustices in America today still leave a large middle class unaffected. But we have, as one larger example, mentally ill people literally living in the streets.
