Interfaith Prayer

There is a life I know that does not have its life in the particulars of my existence.

God is always with us, but we are not always with God.

Some use the word God; others do not. Either way, there is One word that has articulated each and all of us into being.

Hopefully more of us will learn to spend more of our time with the One in whom we live and move and have our being. It gives perspective. It gives our species a better chance at long-term survival.

Thanks to those of you who have been reading and/or commenting in recent weeks even as I’ve had to visit the blogs of others less often lately. My medical situation has worsened; we’re still trying to have Original Faith available by July 1st. My very limited blogging time has been mostly spent visiting a few new blogs each week that look related to this one so that more people will be aware of the book, which was a long labor of love and the best I have to offer.

Thanks again –
Paul

Creative Spirit

If this is a divine plan, how carefully crafted it is to appear spontaneous! Maybe creation truly is... creation.

Renter’s Spirituality

The love we seem to own is owned from the center by a wider sphere of ownership. We do not own the love that we own up to.

We can learn that there is more to us than we once identified with - and as a matter of direct experience, whatever our beliefs or disbeliefs.

Religion Talking in Its Sleep

Agitation and annoyance when others don’t share one’s beliefs is the surest sign, and not from above, of a hollowness to one’s convictions. It's a sign strikingly visible to others and yet not to the shrill and agitated themselves, almost as though it had been emblazoned across their foreheads while they slept like a kind of Mark of the Beast of Unexamined Doubt.

Magnifying Suffering

Unhappiness about being unhappy is a tremendous source of human suffering. It magnifies suffering of every kind. It can turn potentially small and transitory discomforts into torments and can make major pain unbearable. It can even refract and distort light from odd angles, so that we are unhappy not about unhappiness but about lacking things that we only imagine would make us happy.
