Welcome to Original Faith — a blog, a website, and a soon-to-be book about religion and spirituality for people who are thoughtful as well as passionate about this topic. I welcome and encourage diverse points of view, including progressive Christianity, evangelicalism, non Christian traditions, atheism — and folks who don't fit into any existing "ism" at all.
I have two Masters degrees, one in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago and another in counseling from the University of New Hampshire. I enjoy moderating diverse viewpoints. The principle is simple: respect the person, even when you disagree with what they have to say on a particular issue.
Original Faith the book will be available in 2008. It's the result of a twenty-five year effort. I got stuck a lot. No, really, there's more to it than that, and if you're curious, please take a look at the book and author information on this site.
I look forward to renewing old acquaintances and meeting new people on the blog. And I sincerely hope the book will do some good by highlighting gifts we hold in common and a purpose we can share.
